The Zero Water Day Partnership is a non-governmental organization registered and based in Germany.
In German it is a ‘gemeinnütiges’ organization / “not for profit” organisation with a clear and specific focus on planetary health, human health and water. It was founded in 2021.
“Day Zero” in Cape Town, South Africa in 2018 became a term to mark the start of level 7 water restrictions, when municipal water supplies would be largely switched off and it was envisioned that residents could have to queue for their daily ration of water.

Water Partnership
Many countries and communities are increasingly at risk for a “Day Zero”. Cape Town has shown how we can work collectively to avoid catastrophic consequences of zero water day.
