ZWDP preparing for UN Water Conference

ZWDP is accredited to participate in the high-level 2026 United Nations Water Conference to Accelerate the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. The conference will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 2–4 December 2026, co-hosted by Senegal and the United Arab Emirates.

Opportunity for partners and collaborators to showcase their projects and work

ZWDP is looking to host a hybrid event in Dubai and looking forward to working with our in-country partner school (see Youth Intervention COP 28 Climate Conference) . The ZWDP event will showcase ZWDP work across its 3 strategic objectives, including advocacy through a health in all policies approach, ZWDP actions & results for the UN International Year of Glaciers Preservation and the Decade of Cyrospheric Science. The event will provide a platform for ZWDP partners and collaborators to participate.

A major focus will be ZWDP work with Youth and its partner schools, as the UN Water Conference consultation highlights their limited engagement in the meeting to date, see below.

Children and Youth engagement

Children and Youth engagement is at 3.8%.

Consultation shows evolving interactive dialogue themes with health as key focus

Additional themes proposed for the conference
