"Protecting glaciers is not just about saving ice - its about securing the future of our planet"
Our Visit to the World Nature Forum
As part of our project week ‘Ice to Ice’ we the elementary school students of Ecole (School) Moser Nyon, had the opportunity to visit the World Nature Forum in Naters, Switzerland.
Our project focusses on the importance of glaciers and freshwater for both humans and nature. We wanted to explore how glaciers shape our world, how people interact with them, and why their protection is so crucial.

At the World Nature Forum, we learned alot about glaciers – how they formed, how they have been used by humans over time, and how people are adapting to their changes. Most importantly, we discovered why glaciers are melting and what we can do to help protect them. The visit was incredibly interactive, allowing us to try out different experiments and activities. We also watched short films in the World Nature Forum panoramic cinema.Â

Before the visit, we had no idea how much depends on glaciers. They provide freshwater, influence weather patterns, and support entire ecosystems.
Realising how urgently they need protection was eye-opening for us.
The experience at the World Nature Forum made us even more aware of the challenges posed by climate change and inspired us to take action.
