ZWDP Event during COP30 Climate Conference

ZWDP event was live today from Belém, Brazil during the COP 30 Climate Conference.
Bianca Cardoso, ESG Analyst at Sanctuary Christ The Redeemer, Brazil spoke from the COP 30 conference centre to deliver the event’s key message; that we need to place humanity and the planet at the centre of discussions on climate action and sustainable development.
Bianca Cardoso presented an overview of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for Humanity, which included goals that combined UN Sustainable Goals, for example SDG 4 Education with SDG 16 Peace. We will be posting more about this initiative over the coming months and look forward to collaborating with Sanctuary Christ The Redeemer, Brazil.
ZWDP partners school were actively involved in developing the session, the ZWDP Belém Statement, and the ZWDP Issue brief.
Kavin Kahanna, a student at the Jumeirah College, United Arab Emirates presented < watch video > creating the link between COP 30 and the UN Water Conference in Dubai in 2026.
Julian Fisher, Director of Zero Water Day Partnership reflected on the implementation of the FAO / Mountain Partnership ‘Children’s Call to Action‘ to protect mountain areas from the impact of climate change at COP 26 (2021) and its implementation over the last 4 years.
ZWDP Saving the World Water Towers Campaign
At the heart of ZWDP’s work is its Saving the Worlds Water Towers campaign launched at an official side event during the UN Water Conference 2023 and Voice of Children and Youth on Water for Sustainable Development; Taking Action for Humanity and the Planet. This connects the 3 strategic objectives of ZWDP i. policy and advocacy, ii. Science and Research, iii. Education.
