2025 Belem Issue Brief

ZWDP presents Belem Issue Brief during COP30 Climate Conference

Education for Sustainable Mountain Development and Global Citizenship Education

Issue Brief forms basis for Policy Brief at COP31

ZWDP held its online event during the COP30 Climate Conference showcasing its policy and advocacy with continued focus on education for sustainable mountain development and global citizenship education.

ZWDP advocacy is framed by the Saving the Water Towers of the World campaign, which aims to deepen understanding of mountain challenges and responsibilities through whole schools and communities learning and action  (SDG targets 4.7. 12.8, 13.3) and integrating this approach into national education policies.

The Belem issue brief presented at COP30 (November, 2025) sets out the main challenges and issues and creates the basis for discussion during the lead up to COP31 in Turkey this November.
